Centro Manoscritti, Università di Pavia

The Manuscript Centre of the University of Pavia was founded in 1969 thanks to the donation of Montale’s notebooks to Maria Corti. In 2009, the University of Pavia launched the pilot project Pavia Archivi Digitali, which has since become part of the Manuscript Centre. It represents Italy’s first systematic initiative for the acquisition, management, and preservation of born-digital literary collections. Today, the Centre preserves various born-digital author archives, including texts, multimedia files, and other digital documents. A notable example is the hybrid archive of Franco Buffoni, composed of both paper and born-digital materials.
